Crisis Support Services
Several years ago, Friedman Brueggemeyer was brought in to help two local non-profit groups convert an existing hospital office building into a newly shared space. The program called for one half of the building to be devoted to East Bay Agency for Children, a teaching and support group for disadvantaged kids. Their partner in the building, Alameda County Crisis Support Services, needed a combination of general office space, meeting rooms, therapy dens, and a large call center where they take crisis intervention calls from much of the state of California.
Amy and Matthew decided to not only complete this project at greatly reduced pricing, but to donate virtually all of our extensive consulting time. This gesture enabled the new tenants to increase the level of their commitment to providing premium workspace for their employees and their students.
After three months of intensive design work, and another six months of fast track construction, the two entities happily relocated into their new digs. More than five years have passed and the new space has proved a godsend. And in that time, Matthew has actively participated as a Board Member for Crisis Support, lending his expertise in building management and entrepreneurial business acumen. His work with them has been amongst the most rewarding of his career.
