Matthew Friedman

Architect + General Contractor + Founder

Matthew began working in the Design and Construction field over 35 years ago, when he studied under his uncle, a master cabinetmaker.  After receiving his B.S in Environmental Studies from UC Berkeley, he worked in environmental sciences for several years, only to return eventually to his love of building.  In 1987 Matthew received his Masters of Architecture, also from UC Berkeley, where he gained the necessary skills to found a successful Design/Build firm- one which has served the Bay Area community for the last 20 years.

When it comes to his work, Matthew is a good natured perfectionist. His diligence and attention to detail are as valuable to his work as his patience and sense of humor. He takes great pride in each of his firm's projects and considers his personal character well suited to help shepherd often complex projects through the initial phases of design- through completion. In his free time, Matthew enjoys hiking, golf, reading, hanging with his family, and discussing politics with anyone willing to listen.
