Matthew Friedman is the founder of Friedman Brueggemeyer (formerly known as Friedman Associates). Matthew's interest in construction began while working at his uncle's cabinet making business in high school. He began working as a full time carpenter in 1980, following his undergraduate education. Matthew now holds a Masters in Architecture from UC Berkeley, and is also a licensed general contractor, with over 25 years experience in the remodeling business.

When it comes to his work, Matthew is a good natured perfectionist. His diligence and attention to detail are as valuable to his work as his patience and sense of humor. In his free time, Matthew enjoys hiking, golf, and reading to his kids.

Amy Brueggemeyer has been a partner since 1997, and is the lead project supervisor for many of the projects that we undertake. She has 26 years experience in the construction industry. Beginning her work as a union carpenter in 1978, she completed a four-year apprenticeship, and continued on in the field to become a foreman and layout supervisor. Amy is a licensed general contractor, with a degree in Architecture from UC Berkeley.

Amy loves the challenge of organizing projects, and has stayed with construction for the rewards of always following through with a job well done. She feels lucky to be associated with the group of employees, subcontractors, and clients that make these projects possible, and enjoyable as well. In her free time, Amy enjoys cooking, tennis, yoga, and spending time with her family and two daughters.
