Once the process of solidifying our client's ideas is coming into place, we begin to lay out the plans for actual physical work that needs to be done. This involves working with the city on zoning and permits, going over proposals with our subcontractors, and finally, laying out a schedule for the job. Once we have most of these logistics laid out, we can begin working on a contract for the client, which will specify the costs and timeframe for the work to be done.

While most of the planning process is happening behind the scenes, the client can still do a lot to help the process run smoothly. Because the planning process is so closely tied to decisions that are made regarding design, clear communication and clear decision making will always help. We do our best to keep the client up to speed on our progress, and keep them involved as we work through deadlines, to make sure each decision is made with their needs in mind.
